Dust & Innocence (2010)

Standing waiting for a sign
Our Whispered words
turn to hollow cries
Loves falling from our hands,
washing away with the sands
It doesn’t matter

Seething quietly inside
All the wrongs
replace the rights, hurting
My tortured soul’s bleeding now
This barren field it needs no plow
Only tenderness

This life is too special-
to leave without a sound
Better turn these old boots around,
and start fighting-
until the leaves cease to fall
and the rocks upon this wall, crumble
(to dust and innocence)

The loss of love,
it weighs so heavy
on this old heart now
Spent the days counting lies,
chasing shadows in the night.
Will this be forever?

Feeling empty and so cold
a man without a soul,
Wandering lost and so alone
Only Distance
A coronation without a crown,
got me thinking

This life is too special-
to leave without a sound
Better turn these old boots around
and start fighting-
until the leaves cease to fall
and the rocks upon this wall, crumble
(to dust and innocence)

This love’s not over,
This love’s not over,
This love’s not over-

A Falling Through (2009)

Dust does settle upon weary hearts
From birth to death again we start
Fade to black and back to white
Drown in sorrow this day I might!

Echoes of a love so true
Nature’s child framed in blue
Even shadows mourn their loss
Stillness of a heart that’s crossed.

Fate had played its hand so cruel
Through the eyes of a dying fool?
Broken wing but you still soar
In my dreams forever more.

Oh how I yearn for your old song
Hope’s brave anthem, despite our wrongs,
Now in silence you are laid to rest
May this earth be your final nest.

And so we hold hands and pray
As petals fall where you lay
Freedom once danced in you
Now we wander lost, it’s true.

Sleep in peace now you’ve left
For this circle celebrates life, not death!
And know I’ve learned this from you,
Life is but a falling through.

Tonight, she’s on- my mind.
Tonight, she’s on- my mind.
To-night,
To-night,
To-night-

Played another winning hand,
But this old game never goes as planned,
She’s wearing my favourite dress,
I can’t help but be impressed.

Tonight, she’s on- my mind.
Tonight, she’s on- my mind.
To-night,
To-night,
To-night-

And what if we could dance so free,
Heart to heart, just you and me.
In my mind my thoughts are real,
But you may never know how I feel.

Tonight, you’re on- my mind.
Tonight, you’re on- my mind.
To-night,
To-night,
To-night-

Hello, hello, hello-

Fifteen feet, is all it takes,
For my heart to miss a beat-

Everyday, you look my way,
A secret, that we must keep-

It’s cold inside, this absent block,
A key that fits your perfect lock.

And I wonder if our dreams collide-
If we live, a life trapped, inside-
This heart-shaped box, you made for me-
Out of hello, goodbye and nice to see-

You will, be mine, in time-
You will, be mine, in time-
In time… In time… In time-

And when, our clocks, will stop-
We’ll be, forever, locked-
We’ll be, forever, locked-

But for now, I’ll just say goodbye-
And you’ll smile, the sweetest smile..

Goodbye

Waited hours slipped by without trace,
no remembrance, only a stillness in time.
Agreements, sealed with love,
doors, static and unknowing.

I’d never experienced solitude like I did that day,
like a flower separated from its stem, I lay dying.
A death to amuse strangers, and occupy spaces.
They say, When things slow to a point, the world itself stops spinning.

Oh what I’d have given, to know,
to comprehend, to erase that feeling of dread.
Moments merged with lifetimes, past, present and future,
looped together, raw and dragged through the pit of emotion.

To say that breath is automatic, is a simplification,
it became all consuming, the frenetic beating overpowering.
This would be an end to all we had dreamed,
an end that leads back to where we once began.
Our love forever forged, on the day we missed the train.

descending down on me,
another haunted attic,
in which we sit tonight.

Don’t leave, don’t leave me stranded.
’cause our love waits.
So wont you meet me in the middle,
’cause our love waits,
and I’m not over you.

Weakened eyes your slipping away,
dissolving all of my thoughts,
you told me you’re leaving,
holding my heart trapped in a beat,

Don’t leave, don’t leave me stranded.
’cause our love waits.
So won’t you meet me in the middle,
’cause our love waits,
and I’m not over you.
Our love waits,
I’m not over you,
our love waits,
I’m not over- you.

Seven thirty four, I dream of you knocking at my door,
Seven thirty five, I dream of taking you by surprise.
Imagination never dies,
Imagination never dies.
Seven forty three, I dream of you and me,
Seven thirty four, I dream of wooden floors.
And don’t be surprised that the imagination never dies,
and don’t be surprised, when we survive.
I believe in an imagination that never dies,
I believe in a love that never dies.

Improvised wishes but you’re still the same,
that look, that calming sky.
and I wish, I wish I could just stop and laugh with you,
with you, with you, now It’s too late,
Please stop me from falling again,
and I promise things will never be the same,
I promise I’ll write a song,
a song about a girl like you.
